This community service activity aims to empower kindergarten, elementary school, and madrasah ibtidaiyah teachers in improving literacy learning capacity through socialization and the practice of the Jemari reading method based on the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach in Gapurana Village. The activity was motivated by the presence of students who still experience reading difficulties, including students in grades IV, V, and VI, as well as the teachers' need for alternative reading learning methods that are simple, interactive, and suited to the conditions of the students. The activity was held on August 15, 2026, at SDN Gapurana 4 and was attended by approximately 21 teachers from six educational units. The implementation methods included problem identification through observation and discussions with teachers, needs mapping using Mentimeter, preparation of activity materials, socialization and practice of the Jemari reading method via Zoom, followed by evaluation and follow-up. The ABCD approach was utilized by positioning the teachers' experiences, knowledge, and skills as the primary assets in strengthening literacy learning. The results of the activity indicate that teachers possess diverse experiences in handling students' reading difficulties, but still face obstacles such as reading accuracy, letter recognition and memorization, blending letters into words, and student boredom. The socialization and practice of the Jemari reading method received a positive response and improved the teachers' initial understanding of using finger movements to support the reading process. The activity also encouraged the exchange of experiences among teachers and provided sustainable teaching materials for use in schools. Therefore, the socialization and practice of the Jemari reading method based on ABCD can serve as an alternative to strengthen teachers' capacity and support reading literacy learning in Gapurana Village.
